What is HYROX?

The innovative fitness competition taking the world by storm

HYROX is a unique blend of functional fitness and endurance training, combining running with workout stations to create a challenging and dynamic fitness experience. It's approximately 50% running with the remaining 50% dedicated to eight functional workout stations.

Each HYROX event consists of 8 x 1km runs alternating with 8 functional workouts, creating a comprehensive test of strength, endurance, and mental toughness.

The 8 HYROX Workouts

  1. SkiErg - 1,000m
  2. Sled Push - 50m (weight varies by division)
  3. Sled Pull - 50m (weight varies by division)
  4. Burpee Broad Jumps - 80m
  5. Rowing - 1,000m
  6. Farmers Carry - 200m (weight varies by division)
  7. Sandbag Lunges - 100m (weight varies by division)
  8. Wall Balls - 100 reps (weight and target height vary by division)

Yes, our Hyrox group training sessions are an inclusive benefit for our Platinum Gym Members. We also offer 1-on-1 Hyrox coaching and single class visits which may have different prerequisites; please inquire for details.

For optimal results, we recommend attending 2-3 HYROX-specific sessions per week, complemented by additional strength and endurance training. Our coaches can help create a balanced schedule based on your goals and current fitness.

Yes, The Exercise Room has all the specialized equipment needed for HYROX training, including SkiErgs, sleds, sandbags, wall balls, and more. Our facility is specifically set up to simulate the official HYROX competition environment.

Most people benefit from at least 8-12 weeks of specific preparation before their first HYROX event. For those with higher fitness goals, a 16-week program might be more appropriate. Our coaches will assess your current fitness and help create a realistic timeline.
